“Wizard of Id” cartoonist Brant Parker, 86

Brant Parker, whose encouragement of Endicott native Johnny Hart led to the creation of Hart’s comic strip “B.C.” and then to their collaboration on “The Wizard of Id,” died on Sunday in Lynchburg, Va. — eight days after Hart, 76, died in Nineveh.
